All numbers below M49 (three largest known Mersenne primes ago) have been checked and confirmed as being non-prime, so M49 is now definitely the 49th Mersenne prime

Not a well-written headline.
"All numbers below M49" includes 5 and 7 which I can assure you are prime. At least the headline should read "All š˜”š˜¦š˜³š˜“š˜¦š˜Æš˜Æš˜¦ numbers below M49...".
But of course that would still include 48 Mersenne numbers that are in fact prime. So the correct headline would be "All Mersenne numbers below M49 š˜øš˜©š˜°š˜“š˜¦ š˜±š˜³š˜Ŗš˜®š˜¢š˜š˜Ŗš˜µš˜ŗ š˜øš˜¢š˜“ š˜“š˜µš˜Ŗš˜š˜ š˜Ŗš˜Æ š˜²š˜¶š˜¦š˜“š˜µš˜Ŗš˜°š˜Æ..."
