Aperiodvent, Day 7: Parabolic Sewing

By stitching carefully between a set of points, you can create a parabola – these Christmas cards have taken this idea and given it a festive twist.

In this 2015 post on Alex Bellos’ Guardian Blog, Oxford’s Vicky Neale has explained how the process can be used to create a parabola using equally spaced dots, card and sewing thread. There are plenty of nice examples, and full instructions and guidance on how to make your own at home. Lovely!
